Years on Atlas Racing

I got involved in snowshoeing 15 years ago while working at a local ski resort. I was amazed at how much fun snowshoeing was, so I started hiking in the winter instead of skiing like most of my friends. Recently, I started mountaineering again after many years of being away from it. All it took was the next snow storm and I was hooked again.

After some thought, I decided to take my goals to the next level. I decided to climb the 46 mountains in New York State with peaks above 4,000 feet. It was a huge undertaking that I had set my sights on, but I was on a mission and driven to not only accomplish my goal but complete it in a very short amount of time.

I found myself trying to find a reliable snowshoe that would withstand the miles and miles of deep powder and packed snow that they will be up against. I had a friend recommend a pair of Atlas Aspects, so I decided to give them a try. One of the best pieces of gear I have ever bought and best snowshoes I’ve ever owned. With them, I climbed 23 more peaks in 5 weeks that winter, to end my season at 28 of 46 high peaks. This summer I finished my regular 46 and moved on to the 115 highest in the Northeast.

Season Goals
Finish the remaining 18 of my Winter 46, continue working on the 115 highest in the winter. Climb Katahdin this February. To attempt the Great Range traverse in 14 hours or less.
