Almost two decades ago, I foresaw that the Disney movie “Frozen” would put a sudden halt to global warming and serve as the catalyst for a tidal wave of young snowshoers who would worship those who had honed the difficult skill set since before they were born. I wanted to be ahead of the curve and became Atlas’ first sponsored snowshoer back when the company was a mere garage band. Since then, I’ve raced in a lot of snow in a lot of places. Yep. Pretty much.
2nd place in age group, 2008 USSSA National Championships.
3rd place in age group, 2008 Championship qualifier at Swift Skedaddle, Silverthorne CO.
Continuing to persuade Atlas that it behooved the company to sponsor me...for more than a decade. I've also competed in about 50 snowshoe and winter adventure races and am not too embarrassed by some of the results.
Completed the first stage, a 50K+ jaunt, in the Rock & Ice Ultra in the NW Territories in -34C temps as testament to the fact that a low I.Q. can get you pretty far.
Recruited enough fast and glamorous people for Team Atlas that my sub-par performance was sufficiently eclipsed to have gone unnoticed.
Stay on top of the snow as much as possible. Help lead the way for the little “Frozen” snowshoers of the future.
